Nellie Lake is the clearest lake in Killarney that one can see the bottom through approximately 20 meters of water. Instead of traveling from the popular Bell Lake access point which takes 3-4 days one way to get to Nellie Lake, we will start at the northwest entrance of Killarney PP which is more isolated and far less used than the other.

Charlton Lake isn't a particularly popular access point for Killarney, however starting here allows you to get to Nellie Lake in as few as two portages. The first one, from Cranberry Lake to Grace Lake, is a straight forward 1600 m. The second, from Grace Lake to Nellie Lake, is longer (2010 m) and the rugged terrain makes it more challenging.
